Days have grown to months Months have grown to years As time goes by, they glide like the birds in the sky But they fly, With the freedom I lack For freedom is a price too high to pay For I am but a wingless angel, Bound by the fate that compares not to cruelty But perhaps to that of a mere soldier Of pride and honor I stand divided-- Never yet to be united To be isolated from those Those who are treated not as a mere speck But as a brighter flame that shines and guides Is it wrong to say That I underestimate? That I stand as those lost before me? Is it wrong to think That I am but a lost soul? Am I but a human being?
